National flag hoisted at Indo-Myanmar border

KAMJONG, 15 Aug' 22: IN what can be called an applaudable feat, the national tricolor flag was hoisted at Border Pillar No. 92 along the Indo-Myanmar border on Friday as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign marking the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the 75 years of India’s Independence.
Located in one of the innermost corners of the State, Border Pillar No. 92 comes under Ashang Khullen village of Kasom Khullen sub-division.
The flag was hoisted by P Duna Duo, SDO/BDO of Kasom Khullen along with his staff in the presence of the village headman and the village authority. The journey to the border pillar was carried under the guidance of the District Administration, Kamjong led by DC Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS.
Talking about this special effort to reach the HGT campaign to the remotest part of the state, SDO Duna said, “This is one of the eastern most point of our country and I feel it’s befitting to fly our National Flag at this corner of the vast country to pay respect and tribute to all those freedom fighters who laid their lives for the country and for us.”
