War on Drugs continue unabated

IMPHAL,June 18,2022 : AS part of War on Drugs 2.0 around 610 grams of suspected Heroin No. 4 powder was detected and seized by the team of Kakching Police today at around 11;10am.
The combined team was led by Inspt. Md. Abash Khan OC CDO unit, Kakching along with HC L. Rohit Singh, HC N. Bidyananda Singh and Havaldar N. Chaoba Singh under the supervision of Binoy Chongtham, MPS Addl. SP (Ops) Kakching, and the overall Supervision of Shrey Vats, IPS, Superintendent of Police Kakching.
Source informed that while conducting frisking and checking at Pallel CDO Check-post at Leimanai Chingjin one Wagon R (Smoke Grey in colour) vehicle bearing registration No. MN02A/4499 coming from Pallel side was given a signal to stop for checking, but the vehicle tried to escape the check point by speeding the vehicle.
However, the CDO teams swiftly managed to stop the Vehicle at a short distance from the check-post. And the driver of the vehicle and other occupants were detained for verification. They were identified as (1) Lamvah Haokip (38) w/o Onthong Haokip of S P. Saichang, Molnoi Tengnoupal, (2) Letkhogin Haokip (18) S/o Onthong Haokip of S P. Saichang, Molnoi Tengnoupal (3)Ch. Nemneikim Mate (43) W/o Ch. Chunglet mate of Khonomphai Village, Tengnoupal and (4) Nengneichong Haokip (37) W/o Paongam Haokip of Zalenphai Part-1, Moreh ward no. 1 Tengnoupal.
While the vehicle was check and search after observing legal formalities from the vehicle, 50 (Fifty) soap cases containing suspected (Heroin No.4) powder were detected. Therein, driver of the vehicle along with the occupants was arrested by observing all formalities. On weighing, the suspected Heroin (No.4) powder was found to weigh approximately 610 grams (in total). The siezed drugs is estimated to be worth Rs13. 42 lakhs in local market and 1.34 crores in International market.
The arrested person along with the seized articles was handed over to OC, Kakching Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action.
