The Dawn Tantak
UKHRUL,19th Apr'23:. THE  9th August 2023  news in some local papers  which carries quoting 40 MLAs of the Manipur Legislative Assembly  submitting Representation to the Prime Minister of India consisting of six demands was herein clarified by the Naga MLA's

Sources from Naga MLA informed  that
in the first place, it was only points for discussion with Prime Minister of India  but the meeting never took place, and the paper was not submitted to anyone.

The Naga MLAs signed the paper only after approval of the collective leadership obtained by Mr Awangbao from Mr Aneikham Makunga, who is the Convenor for PAC and contact person for the past over 3 months.  All contacts are normally made by either Awangbao or Kumosha, who are the Convenor and Secretary, respectively, for Naga MLA FORUM. This is so for cohesion and to avoid communication gap or misunderstanding said the MLA.

However, it is truly sad about the u-turn of the collective leadership. Their message to the Naga MLAs were that we could sign as long as there's no so-called protection of Manipur territorial integrity in the agenda note, which the Naga MLAs forced CM to delete and he did it reluctantly.

Nevertheless, Mr Aneikham also conveyed to Mr Awangbao that collective leadership, including Ava kharar, Qr.Atem, and Qr.Khayao, had agreed. So in good term and In any case, we believe all the 6 agendas are in the interest of the Nagas:which includes  Removal of Assam Rifles - this was the unanimous demand of the Nagas since the 1950s.

Moreover, removal of SOO- As this is the unanimous demand of the Nagas. for instance, SOO designated camp at the So-called Sinai camp near Zelengbung Ukhrul district has been creating havoc for Tangkhuls, especially during election and road blockades by KSO.

The source further amplified that NRC - This is another unanimous demand of the Nagas to check the demographic engineering of the Kukis in Naga areas. For instance, there were only 6 Kuki MLAs until 1970,against 13 Naga MLAs, but today they are 10 and 10 Naga MLAs.

No separate administration for Kukis- where? In Naga areas? Think about the Nagas in Kangpokpi, Tengnaupal, and Chandel.

And  to strengthen the ADC , it doesn't mean we ask for the 6th schedule, but include UT or even statehood.  More importantly, it's only in the ADC the political boundaries of hill and valley are mentioned under Art.371 C.

It is the onus of the people's representatives to feel the pulse of our people and give voices so , "Pro Bono Publico "  we unanimously  demands DIALOGUE- to start so that peace can be restored, the sooner the much better.

Are all this points not in the interest of the Nagas?  the Naga MLA ask.
