Minister Nemcha Kipgen reaches out to Entrepreneurs of Ukhrul

UKHRUL,June 24, 2022: TEXTILES, Commerce & Industry and Cooperation Minister, Smt Nemcha Kipgen today reaches out to the entrepreneurs of Ukhrul District during her official visit to the District along with MLA, Ukhrul AC Shri Ram Muivah.
During the visit, Minister Smt Nemcha encouraged the entrepreneurs to utilize the various infrastructures of the government implemented through the Department of Commerce & Industry for improving the industrial sector of the State.
Nemcha also inspected the Ukhrul District Industries centre office at Mini-secretariat South block and meet the lone staff of Ukhrul DIC Manager Themreiyo Awungshi who is looking after all the department requirements like a lone soldier.
Minister informed that once the Industrial Estate of the Ukhrul District is fully functional, there will be employment generation of the local people and the nearby villages. She appealed to the people of the district to extend maximum cooperation in the proper maintenance of the infrastructures of the Department in the larger interest of the people.
And from there she visited one of the largest Handlooms and Handicraft weaving centre of Ukhrul, Ukhrul District Handlooms & Handicraft Cooperative Federation (UDHCF) centre situated at Phugreitang western side and inspected the work sheet and expressed her gratification after witnessing the entire works ethics of the society.
While addressing the gatherings at Ukhrul District Handloom and Handicraft Cooperative Federation, she stressed on the role of women in the society and said, “Women are now actively involved in policy making, which is a sign of equality and empowerment of the women folk”. She further stated that she will consult with the concerned Departments for upgradation of the infrastructures of this Centre. Smt Nemcha also expressed that she felt inspired & encouraged to witness the working style.
During the visit, the Industry Minister also inspected the Industrial Estate, Ukhrul District, Cold Storage, Site inspection for Common Facilitation Centre, District Industries Centre (DIC), Ukhrul at Mini Secretariat amongst others.
Warmly received by Locals with Traditional Tangkhul Shawl & Handicraft items. Memorandum also submitted by varied societies.
The visiting minister was accompanied by Director, Commerce & Industry, Smt Y. Robita, MD, MANIDCO, Shri Peter Salam, concerned Officers and Officials of the Departments accompanied the Ministerial team during the visit.
