IMPHAL, Apr 7 ,23 : IT's happening, those in fashion industry in the state, photographers and many fashion and model aspirant of the state today were enthralled as thirty grand finale of the
Femina Miss India- 2023 walk out of the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport here in Imphal today. Photojournalists of the state were occupied clicking every move of the finale contestants, while fashion industry promoters enthusiasts and supporters keep busy with their smart phone to capture the historic occasion.

Most interesting part ofbthis Femina Miss India is thatbStrella Luwang, daughter ofbsenior Free lance Journalist Ratan Luawang of Manipur is one among the 30 finalist contestants.



On April 13, the 59th edition of the Femina Miss India will be held at the Indoor Stadium, Sports Complex, Khuman Lampak, Imphal. As the contestants walk from the airport, they were given warm welcome by per-forming with Manipuri traditional music performers in their traditional dress.

Manipur Chief Minister have also extended his heartfelt welcome to the contestants. In his facebook post the Chief Minister wrote – “Extending a hearty welcome to all the contestants of Femina Miss India to the Jewel of India, the Land of Culture, and powerhouse of Indian sports, Manipur.



With the Grand Finale of Femina Miss India happening in Manipur, I hope youe njoy your stay in this beautiful State and carry the message of goodwill, friendliness and the warm hospitality of Manipur on your departure”.



Manipur is hosting the Femina Miss India 2023 grand finale for the first time ever in Northeast India’s history.

The Tourism Ministry and the Times Group had signed an agreement to officiate the partnership and exchanged the agreement to hold the beauty pageant in Imphal, in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren and Vineet Jain, managing director, Times of India.

Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, wrote in his facebook stating that the 59th Femina Miss India Grand Finale will be another opportunity to showcase the warm hospitality of the people of Manipur to visitor. "Reviewed the arrangements for the 59th Femina Miss India Grand Finale which is going to be held in Imphal.



The event will be another opportunity to showcase the warm hospitality of the people of Manipur to visitors and showcase our potential to host more such national events in the state,” Chief Minister Biren wrote on his Facebook post.

Imphal Ukhrul Road Upgradation Set to Complete by May 2024: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

UKHRUL,5th Apr'23: IMPHAL to UKHRUL road along NH 202 will be completed by May 2024.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that the widening and upgradation of Imphal Ukhrul Road along the NH-202 from Yaingangpokpi to Finch Corner is facing challenges due to land acquisition and forest clearance delays. Despite the hindrance, the work is expected to be completed by May 2024.

This announcement came in response to an unstarred question raised by MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba in the Rajya Sabha today.

The MP expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work along the Imphal Ukhrul road even after three years of commencement and asked about the reasons for the delay and the targeted completion date.

In his reply, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that the work is being carried out in two packages, covering a total length of 31 km. Out of the 17 km in package 1, 16 km of land has been handed over by the state government, and compensation estimates of Rs 860 million are being finalized by the DCs of Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts.

In package 2, all 14 km of land have been handed over, and the forest clearances for both packages have been granted by the Forest Department on March 1, 2023.

Minister Gadkari also mentioned that the physical progress achieved in Package 1 is 52.03%, while in Package 2, it is 43.52%. Despite the challenges, the Union Minister assured that the project is being monitored regularly to ensure timely completion.
