UKHRUL, 2st   Feb'23: FARMERS in Ukhrul district have been facing a myriad of challenges ranging from financial constrains and access to quality seeds and other inputs to market their produce. In order to address these issues, Mission Ukhrul has instituted the Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Award Programme effective from the current year.

Mission Ukhrul sources said that 
that the Award has been named after the incumbent Ukhrul MLA Qr. Ram Muivah (@ Ramnganing Muivah) and the same was declared on December last.  The ultimate goal of the  initiative  is to empower the farmers of Ukhrul district and help them  become self-reliant.

As a real visionary leader and people's representative who sacrifice all his comfort for the people's welfare AmeiNing ( Ram) is truly giving back his gratitude to Almighty God  to serve with commitment and dedication said Ql.Naomila a farmer from Ukl.

Under  Ram vission, Mission Ukhrul was prayfully and officially launched before the 12 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 and right after the election declaration (after he was elected) he begin his mission by translation in action although slow at times due to circumstances but steadily and today people have seen some fruition of his sincere works for the upliftment of the denizens added a sources from Mission Ukhrul.

Such a thoughtful  Award to support and encourage to become a successful Farmers and Entrepreneurs of 44- Ukl Assembly Constituency (first phase) which is one of the first of its kind ever initiated by any other MLAs said a farmer from Shokvao.

MLA Ram Muivah on his official Facebook page wrote,  to encourage our young farmers and Entrepreneurs and help them become more successful by adapting their nature of farming from subsistence farming to enterprise farming  Iam launching an Award program for all those who are committed and willing to take on the challenge.

As you can see supporting farmers and Entrepreneurs especially amongst the youths and the upcoming generation and seeing them become successful has always been  one of my big dream , the MLA wrote.

'Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards Program under Mission Ukhrul' is classified into seven (7) categories namely, Honey Mission - award for the best beekeeping entrepreneur; Fishery Mission -  for the best fishery farmer/entrepreneur, Piggery Mission - for the best piggery farmer/entrepreneur,  Poultry Mission - for the best poultry farmer/entrepreneur,  Cattle / Diary Farming Mission -  for the best dairy farmer/entrepreneur,  High-Value Fruits Farming Mission such as Kiwi, Avocado ,Low Chilling Apple etc.And the most Innovative Entrepreneur (Start-up) of the year Award - (in any field).

The selected recipients would be presented with cash award and certificate. The sources informed adding that they will be assisted in any government schemes from the department concern and taking easy loan by the office of Ukhrul MLA  if they are a registered body / individual/ society  to help them grow their business .

Regarding the eligibility criteria sources informed that the applicants should be from within the jurisdiction of Ukhrul Assembly Constituency and that the Geo-tagging of the farming areas is mandatory .Stating that the duration of each compitation would run for one year  and that the decision of the Jury would be final . sources invited the interested parties to contact  + 948798138934 for further queries and details.

It is pertinent to mentioned that Ram Muivah has been steadfast for developing Ukhrul town ship and work the the welfare of the marginalized farmers  and Entrepreneurs.

He was also instrumental in installation of different  infrastructures and facilities in the town during his stint as North East Council ( NEC)  secretary including Cane and  Bamboo Training centre and Kashimla Ava market in Ukhrul to name a few.

He often stated, " Ukhrul is the Jerusalem of Manipur " .It is the place where Christinty and modern education first started in the State .The people of Ukhrul certainly deserve better living conditions.

Mission Ukhrul is hopeful that Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Award will go a long way in empowering the farmers of Ukhrul district and help them overcome the challenges they are facing.
