A Farmer’s Daughter, 19-year-old Maitri Patel Became India’s Youngest Commercial Pilot

Sep'15,021: MEET Ms. Maitri Patel, 19-year-old girl from Olpad in Surat, Gujarat, who is currently making headlines for becoming India's youngest female commercial pilot.
Daughter of Kantilal Patel, a farmer and mother working in the Health Department of Surat Municipal Corporation, Maitri said that she decided she wanted to become a pilot since the age of 8 years after seeing an airplane for the first time.
She completed her 18 month course pilot training program from the United States and got a commercial license to fly planes in record 11 months.
Maitri now wants to become a captain and fly a Boeing aircraft for which she will begin her training soon.
