75th Naga Independence Day observed across Ukhrul District

UKHRUL, Aug'14,021: THE Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long(TNWL/ comprised of all Tangkhul headman ) celebrated the 75th Naga Independence Day at its head quarter office, Wino bazar, Ukhrul here, today.
Speaking at the historic event, president Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long, SA. Ramnganing who hoisted the Naga flag said Naga Independence day is celebrated across the Naga inhabited areas across the globe by all young and old alike. "A time has come for the Naga brethren to unite and humbled down before God and prayed for permanent solution and settlement of the long pending Naga political struggle."
Ramnganing further made a clarion appeal to the Naga citizens to seek God's blessing and make the ongoing struggle a fruitful mission through his grace.
The event was attended by TNWL executive members, TNL assembly speaker, Tangkhul villages headmen, and well wishers.
Meanwhile, the Hunphun/Ukhrul village authority lead by headman Qr. HA. Sarimaya and the Village Authority (VA) also hoisted the Naga flag to Commemorate the 75th Naga Independence day at Hunphun Hangva shim/office Awungtang, Ukhrul.
Nevertheless, the Tangkhul Katamano Shaklong(TKS) also hoisted the Naga National Flag at its office premises, Phungreitang, Ukhrul to mark the 75th Naga Independence Day.
The day is to mark the historic event of Independence of the Naga people from the India. The Nagas celebrated its Independence day on 14th August every year, one day ahead of India.
It is also reported that almost all the 240 plus villages of Ukhrul and Kamjong hoisted the Naga flag to their respective villages lead by the village authorities.
