 2nd Community Outreach program of Shangshak Police Station; Tree plantation was held at JNV Ranva campus

UKHRUL,Aug'7,021: Under the initiative of Shangshak Police station a joined mass Ornamental Trees plantation was held today at JNV campus Ramva, Ukhrul today. 

The plantation drive was carried out under the Motto " Our survival depends on Plants and Animals"  Which was lead by Ukhrul DFO Shanngam Shelli, KM. Chirmishan RO,Ukl forest, As.Wungnaoyo Zimik headman Ramva village, VA members, Ramva Youths, JNV Ramva principal Qr.Lungshim Horam and staffs and Shangshak PS OC H. Chiphang and his team. 

Around 500 numbers of different ornamental tree saplings were planted in and around the JNV campus,Ramva which was participate by 110 people's including Lambui students union. 

While talking with the reporters on the  Importance Of Tree Plantation Shangshak OC H. Chiphang  said that Tree Plantation is one of the best activities for making the planet greener, livelier, and healthier. Planted trees help our biodiversity, ensure the supply of oxygen for the next generations, and provide us with various resources. So, we should plant more and more trees, the OC quath. 

Nevertheless,Tree plantation has several benefits on the environment and also on our health. We all breathe oxygen to live and trees are the only natural sources of oxygen. Tree plantation ensures that the supply of oxygen never fades.

Further, Tree plantation also encourages flora and fauna to grow. Birds make their nests in the trees, thereby adding to the beauty of nature. Birds also scatter seeds and pollen on the ground, resulting in the growth of other plants. Thus, tree plantation increases the bio-diversity of a particular area.

The demand for medical oxygen has surged manifold as the number of critical COVID cases. Hospitals are running out of oxygen to save critical patients. “You have consumed 1,44,000 litre oxygen to recover. Now, plant 10 trees to give it back to nature.” This is an appeal I would like to make to everyone, Chiphang adds. 

It is pertinent to mentioned that  today's tree plantation drive was the second such initiative undertaken by Shangshak PS under it's OC lead where earlier on July 13 last Ornamental plants plantation to dot main road of Ukl -Imp and across PCA campus was successfully carried out .
