Assam Rifles organised Mega Tree plantation at Shirui Peak

UKHRUL, Aug'2,021: SOMSAI Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) and Ukhrul Forest Division organised a joint Tree Plantation Drive at Shirui kashong Tourists park one kilometre from the main road of Ukhrul- Jessami National Highway, here today.
Nevertheless,as part of preserving the majestic abode of famous Shirui Lily flower and it's ecological balance the onus was carried out by the AR with an aim to promote ‘Go Green Initiative’ and spread awareness about climate change and global warming amongst the villagers and the troops and also to educates them about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium.
Over 4000 saplings of different types of tree saplings were planted by local youths, villagers and AR troops lead by Commandant Col. Ripon Bora, Shangam, IFS, DFO Ukhrul division and Shirui village headman and his VA's amongst other.
