Ornamental plants plantation to dot main roads across PCA

UKHRUL,July 13,021: EVERY-persons passing through National Highway 202 major Ukhrul - Imphal roads a few 28-29 kms from Ukhrul towns will witness a pleasant transformation.
To give aesthetic look for citizens and commuters and to increase the green cover, Multi-Layer Avenue Plantations (MLAP) with ornamental plants plantation was being taken up today on either side of the main roads initiated jointly by Shangahak police station, Kamjong forest department and Patkai Christian Academy (PCA)authority at road stretches of PCA and inside the Academy complex.
The plantation projects was taken up under the motto, 'Our survival depends on the survival of plants and animals '.
H.Chiphang OC of Shangsak PS while talking with this Jurno said that inorder to midiagte our environment adaptable to climatic change planting of trees in the need of the hour so we took up this onus by planting ornamental tree which is also matches with the scenic beauty of PCA road stretches where everyone who came to Ukhrul through NH 202 will certainly witness, the OC adds
As per the suggestions by the Forest Department ornamental plants like Leihao, Uningthou ,Thuga ching,flowering shrubs and ect etc were planted in and around the PCA.
The tree plantation drive was lead by Worthem Moulthou (MO) Range Forest officer(RFO) Kamjong range, Kamlal Kongsai principle PCA and H. Chiphang OC Shangshak P. S.
